Basketball Recap: Lawrenceburg's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Lawrenceburg had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They managed a 45-40 win over the East Central Trojans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lawrenceburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kamryn Ferreira, who posted 14 points. Ferreira continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Natalie Knigga, who earned nine points and seven rebounds.

East Central lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Teagan Leihgeber, who scored eight points and eight boards. That's the most points Leihgeber has posted since back in November of 2024. Natalie Stenger was another key player, putting up nine points.

Lawrenceburg has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for East Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lawrenceburg will face off against Greensburg at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lawrenceburg is on a three-game streak of home wins, Greensburg a nine-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for East Central, they will take on Connersville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
