Central Valley Christian beats Washington Union for their fifth straight win

The Central Valley Christian Cavaliers had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They took down Washington Union 42-24. Given Central Valley Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Washington Union is ranked 347th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bryson Donelson had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 183 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also picked up 50 receiving yards. Donelson's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards.

When it comes to explaining why Washington Union lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jason Torres. Despite the final result, he threw for 418 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt. Ryan Brown also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.

Central Valley Christian's win was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27 points. As for Washington Union, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Valley Christian will challenge Immanuel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Washington Union, they will head out on the road to face off against Kerman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games.
