Baseball Recap: Nimitz Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Benjamin Davis, Nimitz was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Eisenhower Eagles by a score of 7-2. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Eagles back in March, they had to take a 5-4 defeat.

Juan Arana spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Nimitz is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andrew Curtis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jose Miranda, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Nimitz's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Eisenhower, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.

Nimitz will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
