Basketball Recap: Crosstown Takes a Loss

Crosstown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-57 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fayette Academy Vikings. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (55), the Explorers still had to take the loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fayette Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dalton Green, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Green also put up a block, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Harris Armour, who posted 16 points and five assists.

Crosstown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Fayette Academy, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.

Coming up, Crosstown will be playing in front of their home fans against Memphis Business Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Explorers will be up against the Execs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 63.13 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Fayette Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Lakeland Preparatory at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
