Baseball Recap: Hamilton Township Takes a Loss

Hamilton Township extended their losing streak to six on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 7-12 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fairfield Union Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 back in April.

As for Fairfield Union, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.

For Fairfield Union's part, the team relied heavily on Braxton Rowles, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Rowles a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Angelo Galella, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Coming up, Hamilton Township will take on Marion Harding in a tournament on Friday. Fairfield Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
