Softball Recap: Mt. Zion Braves vs. Athens Warriors

Mt. Zion had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. Everything went their way against the Athens Warriors as they made off with an 11-2 victory. The Braves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Ella Fink was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Fink was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Ana Kanemaru was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Avelyn Ethell, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Mt. Zion hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matchups.
