Volleyball Recap: Cabrillo Falls Short of Paso Robles in the Playoffs

Cabrillo and Paso Robles squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Cabrillo had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 3-2. If the Conquistadores were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Bearcats when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cabrillo took Paso Robles into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 25-22, 21-25, 19-25, 25-14, 15-12.

Matias Salguero paced Cabrillo's offense, picking up 30 kills. Salguero got some help from Cody Lawton and his 48 assists. Finally, Salguero was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

This is the second loss in a row for Cabrillo and nudges their season record down to 13-10. As for Paso Robles, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12.

Cabrillo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Paso Robles, they will welcome Roosevelt at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
