Recap: Arrowhead Christian Academy Eagles vs. Tri-City Christian Academy Warriors
After a string of seven wins, the Arrowhead Christian Academy Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 61-37 loss at the hands of Tri-City Christian Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Arrowhead Christian Academy has scored all season.
Arrowhead Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Marcus Edwards, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Asa Shaw, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Arrowhead Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri-City Christian Academy only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
Tri-City Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Fulvio Dos Santos, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 39 points and 2 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dos Santos has scored at least a third of Tri-City Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Carnes, who scored nine points along with five assists and five steals.
Arrowhead Christian Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3. As for Tri-City Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with that victory, which was their 13th straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arrowhead Christian Academy will play host again and welcome Ville de Marie Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tri-City Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Imagine Prep Coolidge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Imagine Prep Coolidge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Tri-City Christian Academy is ranked 24th).
