Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Great Valley). They had just enough and edged out the Henderson Warriors 12-10. The high-scoring effort was just what the Patriots needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Mia Carr was a standout: she fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-5. She also put up two runs, which were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lily Mattison, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Great Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Great Valley pushed their record up to 5-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games.
