Softball Preview: Cheltenham Panthers vs. Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials

The Cheltenham Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cheltenham will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Cheltenham lost a close one when they played back in March but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Friday was a bit more commanding. They fell victim to a rough 16-1 loss at the hands of Upper Moreland.

Cheltenham saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Niya McKenzie, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Plymouth Whitemarsh earned an 11-8 win over Wissahickon on Tuesday.

Madison Moran made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Moran was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Plymouth Whitemarsh got a big performance out of Anna Powel, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Joslyn Perez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Cheltenham's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Plymouth Whitemarsh, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
