Section 6 A - North recap October 8, 2013
Sweet Home extended the longest winning streak in Section 6 A - North this week by beating Grand Island, 19-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
North Tonawanda moved up to 275 from 342 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lumberjacks climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Starpoint 35-12.
North Tonawanda's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Chris Woodard threw for 165 and 2 touchdowns and Jacob Ferry had 115 yards receiving. On the ground Woodard chipped in 147 yards. Anthony Tripi helped North Tonawanda's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 42 yards.
Woodard put up the best numbers in passing as Tony Truilizio's team topped the Spartans. Woodard's favorite target this week was Ferry, who caught 4 passes for 115 yards.
North Tonawanda's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lumberjacks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Woodard has thrown for 837 yards and 4 touchdowns this season, while Ferry has 25 catches for 473 yards. Woodard also leads the league in rushing with 474 yards.
The top two teams in Section 6 A - North will face off this week when first place Sweet Home takes on second place Kenmore East.

The Lumberjacks made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,387 from 9,606. The improvement was largely due to a 35-12 victory over Starpoint last week.
