Softball Recap: Plainfield Central Victorious

Plainfield Central's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Andrew Thunderbolts 6-5. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Thunderbolts, too.

Plainfield Central's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Melody Mojica, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Mojica has posted since back in March. Evalyn Prochaska was another, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Plainfield Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-10-1 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.25 runs across that stretch. As for Andrew, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

Coming up, Plainfield Central will square off against Bolingbrook at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Andrew, they will challenge Lincoln-Way West at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Thunderbolts surely won't give up without a fight.
