Basketball Game Preview: Hamilton County Foxes vs. Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats

Hamilton County hasn't had much luck against Anna-Jonesboro recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The two teams will round out the year against one another at at 10:00 a.m. Hamilton County will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hamilton County beat Eldorado 60-55. Given the Foxes' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Eagles are ranked 600th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Anna-Jonesboro came up short against Massac County on Saturday and fell 58-47. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Anna-Jonesboro's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Hamilton County, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.

Hamilton County came up short against Anna-Jonesboro in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 54-50. Can Hamilton County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
