Baseball Game Preview: Belton-Honea Path Bears vs. Palmetto Mustangs

The Belton-Honea Path Bears will take on the Palmetto Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Monday, Belton-Honea Path came up short against Palmetto and fell 8-3.

For Palmetto's part, Logan Riddle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hayes Edwards, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caige Strange, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Palmetto has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Belton-Honea Path, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
