Thornton extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Clayton Jones. The Thornton Trojans blew past the Adams City Eagles 70-37 on Thursday thanks in part to Jones, who shot 6-for-9 from deep and almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds. The contest was his 17th in a row with at least 16 points.

Another player making a difference was Alex Sandovol, who posted nine points along with seven assists and three steals. What's more, he also posted a 57% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in February of 2024.

Omar Deluna and Jojo Martinez certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Deluna earned six points and three blocks, while Martinez put up 11 points. Rogelio Moncada was another key player, putting up five points and three steals.

Thornton's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points over those games. As for Adams City, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Thornton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 81-55 win against Gateway on the 6th. As for Adams City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 44-33 victory against Skyview on the 4th.
