Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Umpqua Valley Christian's 14th in Last 17 Outings

Umpqua Valley Christian won the last time they faced New Hope Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Umpqua Valley Christian Monarchs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-42 win over the New Hope Christian Warriors.

Defeat or not, New Hope Christian got some senior leadership from Ava Barnett and Jordan Zumhofe. Barnett posted 26 points along with six steals and five boards, while Zumhofe almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. The contest was Barnett's 20th in a row with at least 17 points.

Umpqua Valley Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for New Hope Christian, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 19-2.
