Football Game Preview: Bay City Blackcats vs. Tuloso-Midway Warriors & Cherokees + How To Watch

The Bay City Blackcats will face off against the Tuloso-Midway Warriors & Cherokees at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, Bay City was just a hair shy of victory and fell 7-6 to Calhoun. The contest marked the Blackcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Even if they lost, Bay City's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Calhoun's QB won't forget Jordan Oneal anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Oneal has been hot recently, having posted two or more sacks the last three times he's played. Curtland Woods was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks and making 14 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Tuloso-Midway strolled past Zapata with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 34-17. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors & Cherokees.

Bay City better keep an eye on Damian Figueroa. He was instrumental in Tuloso-Midway's win, rushing for 220 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 11.6 yards per carry. Figueroa also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Warriors & Cherokees are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Tuloso-Midway was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 220 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 200 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Bay City's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Tuloso-Midway, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Saturday's game might be decided on the ground. Bay City has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 175 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Tuloso-Midway struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 296.6 rushing yards.
