Softball Recap: Tulare Western Wins Going Away Against Hanford

Tulare Western made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hanford, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Bullpups with a sharp 12-6 win on Friday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Tulare Western let Emily Leon and Makayla Leon run wild. Emily scored a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances, while Makayla went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. Those three hits gave Makayla a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abby Babb, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

Tulare Western was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Tulare Western's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hanford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8-1 record this season.
