Basketball Recap: Carson Hicks' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Heritage Christian Academy over Community Christian

Heritage Christian Academy lost against Community Christian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Heritage Christian Academy Lions took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Community Christian Warriors. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Heritage Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Carson Hicks, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Greg Bunch, who put up 13 points.

Aiden Sipes continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Community Christian, going 19 for 30 to rack up 47 points and six rebounds. Sipes' evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. River Bryan was another key player, going 6 of 13 en route to 12 points and seven boards.

Heritage Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Community Christian, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Looking ahead, Heritage Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Paul's Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Paul's Prep will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Heritage Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Community Christian, they will challenge Cristo Rey Fort Worth at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
