Basketball Recap: Cheyenne Mountain Triumphs

Cheyenne Mountain hadn't done well against Lewis-Palmer recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks walked away with a 74-64 win over the Lewis-Palmer Rangers. This was payback for the Red-Tailed Hawks, who suffered an 86-41 loss the last time these two teams met.

Lewis-Palmer's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jonas Miller, who went 8 of 15 en route to 21 points and seven boards, and Will Rinnels, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 24 points. Those 24 points gave Rinnels a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tommy Perez, who posted eight points and eight rebounds.

Cheyenne Mountain has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Lewis-Palmer, they will face off against Palmer Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lewis-Palmer is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season.
