Softball Game Preview: Richwood Lumberjacks vs. Greenbrier West Cavaliers

Richwood is 1-9 against Greenbrier West since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Lumberjacks will head out on the road to take on the Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. Richwood has given up an average of 17.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Richwood is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game dating back to last season last Tuesday. They came up short against Oak Hill, falling 17-2.

Sherman hit Greenbrier West with a five-run sixth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cavaliers fell 14-9 to the Tide.

Brooklyn Adkins was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Madalyn Fields, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Richwood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Greenbrier West, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.
