Softball Recap: Montgomery Beats Columbia Montour Vo-Tech for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Montgomery strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the Columbia Montour Vo-Tech Rams with a sharp 21-2 win. The Red Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rams, too.

Montgomery got a massive performance out of Zoe Furman, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. With that strong performance, Furman is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Houseknect, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Montgomery always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Columbia Montour Vo-Tech only posted an OBP of .385.

Montgomery pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Columbia Montour Vo-Tech, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
