If Gibsland-Coleman was feeling good fresh off their 50-21 takedown of Ringgold two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gibsland-Coleman Bulldogs lost 71-48 to the Ruston Bearcats on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Despite the defeat, Gibsland-Coleman had strong showings from Samora Sampson, who posted 24 points along with eight boards and six assists, and Baleigh Haulcy, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 50% of Gibsland-Coleman's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Allen, who put up no points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Gibsland-Coleman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Gibsland-Coleman's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Ruston, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.

Gibsland-Coleman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-52 win against Claiborne Christian on the 31st. As for Ruston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 44-30 defeat against Ouachita Parish on the 31st.
