Lamell Mims leads a balanced attack to beat McIntosh

Recap: Hardaway Hawks vs. McIntosh Chiefs

Even though the McIntosh Chiefs scored an imposing 58 points on Thursday, the Hardaway Hawks still came out on top. Hardaway managed a 64-58 win over McIntosh. Given Hardaway's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while McIntosh is ranked 284th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hardaway to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lamell Mims, who scored 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mims has scored at least 25% of Hardaway's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mekhi Benton, who scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals.

Hardaway has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for McIntosh, they have fallen quite a ways from their 21-8 record last season and are now at 3-7.

Hardaway won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Woodland at 2:00 p.m. on December 29th. McIntosh won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Springwood at 6:30 p.m. on December 29th.
