It was a good run, but Roanoke Valley Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to the Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy Ospreys. The EAGLES were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ospreys apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Hahn, who posted 13 points and three steals. Isaiah Keep was another key player, putting up six points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Roanoke Valley Christian's loss ended a 14-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2. As for Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roanoke Valley Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Christian Heritage Academy at 5:45 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy will take on Temple Christian in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
