Volleyball Game Preview: Avon Panthers vs. Holbrook Bulldogs

Avon is on a nine-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Holbrook is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Panthers will welcome the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It was a proper cat-fight when Avon took on Westport on Friday. The Panthers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, Holbrook came up short against Cardinal Spellman on Friday and fell 3-1. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-13, 23-25, 25-16.

Avon's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-3. As for Holbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Avon was able to grind out a solid victory over Holbrook in their previous matchup back in September, winning 3-1. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
