Basketball Recap: Giddings Comes Up Short

If Giddings was riding high fresh off their 45-16 takedown of Rice Consolidated on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Buffaloes fell 47-38 to the East Bernard Brahmas on Tuesday. The Buffaloes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Brahmas earlier this season, when they won 39-32.

East Bernard's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from A'Lexis Longoria, who went 8-for-12 on her way to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Longoria a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Kovar, who posted eight points.

Giddings' defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for East Bernard, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-13 record this season.
