Basketball Recap: Cole Smith's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Carson City-Crystal over Fulton

Carson City-Crystal lost against Fulton back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Carson City-Crystal Eagles took a hard 52-34 fall against the Fulton Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 641st, while the Pirates are ranked 302nd).

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cole Smith, who posted eight points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Andrews, who had nine points.

This is the second loss in a row for Carson City-Crystal and nudges their season record down to 2-9. As for Fulton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Carson City-Crystal will face off against Portland at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Fulton has already played their next match (against Sacred Heart Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
