Softball Recap: Lancaster's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Lancaster had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Corning-Painted Post Hawks by a score of 6-3 on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Legends, who have now won six games in a row.

Alyssa Brunner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Brunner was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brennah DeWald, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Ava Konieczny, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Lancaster's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Corning-Painted Post, they moved to 17-4 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Lancaster nor the Hawks have any future games scheduled.
