If Santana was riding high fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Mira Mesa last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Santana fell 9-5 to the Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders on Tuesday. The Sultans' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Emma Schneider was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Santana's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Mater Dei Catholic, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Coming up, Santana will face off against El Capitan at 4:00 p.m. on April 2. As for Mater Dei Catholic, they will be taking part in a tournament against Rancho Bernardo at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Mater Dei Catholic 2.2, Rancho Bernardo 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
