Baseball Recap: Baldwin Takes a Loss

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, Baldwin was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They lost 12-2 to the First Coast Buccaneers. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 5-0 to the Buccaneers when the teams met back in April of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Baldwin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaeson Johns, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Johns also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Baldwin has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. The victory was the third in a row for First Coast, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

Looking ahead, Baldwin will face off against Englewood at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The last five games Englewood has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for First Coast, they will square off against West Nassau at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. First Coast's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so West Nassau's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
