Softball Recap: Milton Comes Up Short

Milton dropped their record down to 7-4 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They lost 17-2 to the Mifflinburg Wildcats. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Black Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Mifflinburg, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2. Considering they have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Mifflinburg's part, Taylor Stewart was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Stewart was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Mifflinburg got a massive performance out of Allison Keister, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave Keister a new career-high. Pachucki Anna was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Milton is set to take on their familiar foe Central Columbia at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mifflinburg will face off against rival Midd-West at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
