Baseball Game Preview: Tazewell Bulldogs vs. Virginia High Bearcats

Tazewell is 2-8 against Virginia High since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Tazewell's victory against Graham wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the G-Men 4-3. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the G-Men: they've now won eight in a row.

Tazewell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Walker Patterson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Patterson also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Virginia High, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past Marion 12-1 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won three matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Virginia High now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Tazewell, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.
