Preview: Heritage Hawks vs. St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings
The Heritage Hawks will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Heritage waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 68-21 win over St. Mary's Academy. That 47 points margin sets a new team best for Heritage this season.
It was another big night for Sam Mead, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mason Robert bolinger, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
St. Anne-Pacelli posted their biggest win since December 16, 2023 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Brookstone with a sharp 67-41 win. Given St. Anne-Pacelli's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Brookstone is ranked 284th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Heritage's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Heritage skirted past St. Anne-Pacelli 51-48 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Heritage repeat their success, or does St. Anne-Pacelli have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
