Basketball Recap: Foothill Wins Going Away Against Varsity Opponent

Foothill not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since December 2nd (when they won 83-25). They put the hurt on Varsity Opponent with a sharp 57-34 win. With that victory, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 50.2 points per game.

Foothill can attribute much of their success to Clinton Ezugha, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards. Ezugha is becoming a predictor of the Falcons' success: when he posts at least eight rebounds the team is 2-1 (and 1-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Anthony Martinez, who posted seven points.

Foothill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Foothill moved to 3-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Foothill has already played their next contest, a 61-59 loss against Weston Ranch on the 22nd. As for Varsity Opponent, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 49-33 defeat against Segerstrom on the 20th.
