Basketball Recap: Crystal Lake South Takes a Loss

Crystal Lake South was the 69-39 winner over Central when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Crystal Lake South Gators took a 53-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Rockets on Wednesday. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Central found their leader in sophomore Julia Scheuer, who almost dropped a triple-double on 21 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Scheuer has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Lafleur, who posted seven points and four steals.

Crystal Lake South's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Central, their record now sits at 6-17.

Crystal Lake South has already played their next game (against McHenry), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Central will head out on the road to face off against Dundee-Crown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Central is facing Dundee-Crown at the right time seeing as Dundee-Crown is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
