Basketball Recap: Lifegate Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against San Marcos Academy back in December of 2024, Lifegate Christian came back down to earth. The Lifegate Christian Falcons lost 68-46 to the First Baptist Academy Eagles on Monday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Lifegate Christian lost, don't look at Noah Perez. Despite the final result, he posted 12 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Perez a new career-high in steals. DaGionne Padelford was another key player, putting up ten points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Lifegate Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as First Baptist Academy only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

Timothy De La Rosa continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for First Baptist Academy, going 11 of 25 on his way to 33 points along with eight steals and six assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which De La Rosa has scored at least a third of First Baptist Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Levine, who put up 18 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Lifegate Christian's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-8. As for First Baptist Academy, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Lifegate Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-52 loss against Calvary Chapel Christian Academy on the 7th. As for First Baptist Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-35 victory against Austin Classical on the 2nd.
