Volleyball Preview: Wilmington Hurricane vs. Waynesville Spartans
The Wilmington Hurricane will square off against the Waynesville Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Wilmington finally turned things around against Blanchester on Wednesday. They blew past the Wildcats 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Hurricane have posted since August 22nd.
Wilmington can attribute much of their success to Layla Reynolds, who had ten digs and two aces. That's the most aces Reynolds has posted since two weeks ago.
Wilmington was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're ace total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Waynesville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They skirted past Eaton 3-2.
Waynesville took Eaton into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. After all that action, the final score was 25-15, 25-20, 13-25, 23-25, 15-10.
Wilmington's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Waynesville, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
