Basketball Game Preview: Soulsville Revolution vs. Kirby Cougars

Having just played yesterday, the Soulsville Revolution will head out on the road to face off against the Kirby Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Soulsville didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-8), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They secured a 77-71 W over University on Tuesday.

Soulsville's success was spearheaded by the efforts of JAKEEL TRUSS, who went 9 for 20 on his way to 26 points in addition to five boards and three steals, and BRANDON TURNER, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 20 points and three blocks. The game was TRUSS's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of NICHOLAS WILLIAMS JR, who posted six points in addition to three steals and three blocks.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kirby). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging an 85-57 victory over Freedom Prep Academy. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 23 points or more this season.

Kirby now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Soulsville, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-2.
