Basketball Game Preview: Hunters Lane Warriors vs. Stratford Spartans + How To Watch

The Hunters Lane Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Stratford Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Friday, Hunters Lane was beaten by Station Camp 73-29. The Warriors have struggled against the Bison recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Stratford played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Beech and fell 73-38. The Spartans were down 60-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Stratford saw an underclassman step up: freshman Denayah Pendergrass-Beaird posted 22 points. Pendergrass-Beaird's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points.

Hunters Lane now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Stratford, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Hunters Lane didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Stratford in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 44-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
