Basketball Recap: Wheeler Piles Up the Points Against Tremont

Wheeler won the last time they faced Tremont and things went their way on Monday too. The Wheeler Eagles breezed by the Tremont Eagles to the tune of 78-30. Given Wheeler's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while Tremont is ranked 312th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tremont's loss came despite strong showings from Nathan Crenshaw and Andrew Curtis. Crenshaw posted 12 points, while Curtis scored ten points.

Wheeler is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 18-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.2 points per game. As for Tremont, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-23.

Wheeler will be playing in front of their home fans against Baldwyn at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wheeler knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Baldwyn likes a good challenge. Tremont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
