Baseball Recap: Northfield Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Northfield had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Daleville Broncos with a sharp 10-3 win. Winning may never get old, but the Norsemen sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Caleb Dubois was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Kam Pratt was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Northfield: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-16 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Maddux Daniels, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Northfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Northfield's record is now 13-16. As for Daleville, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Coming up, Northfield will square off against Cowan at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Daleville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
