Football Recap: Hall Takes a Loss

Hall was the 40-32 winner over Monmouth-Roseville when they last played one another back in September of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Red Devils were dealt a 57-14 defeat at the hands of the Titans on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Titans are ranked 131st).

Landon Montroy produced another solid effort rushing for 136 yards and two scores while picking up 8.0 yards per carry for Monmouth-Roseville. Montroy is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ke'Shawn Crawford, who rushed for 51 yards and one TD.

Hall now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Monmouth-Roseville, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Hall will challenge Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Monmouth-Roseville, they will square off against Rockridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Titans 15, the Rockets 14.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
