Newark and Geneva are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2019, but not for long. The Newark Reds are on the road again on Wednesday to play the Geneva Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Newark will be strutting in after a victory while Geneva will be coming in after a defeat.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Newark finally turned things around against Franklin on Monday. They blew past the Bulldogs 3-0.
Meanwhile, Geneva was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Honeoye Falls-Lima.
Geneva started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-20.
Newark's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. As for Geneva, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
