Soccer Recap: West Adams Takes a Loss

West Adams lost against Dr. Maya Angelou Community back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West Adams Panthers came up short against the Dr. Maya Angelou Community Phoenix, falling 6-1. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 976th, while the Phoenix are ranked 141st).

West Adams' goal came courtesy of Alexis Arias, who's now up to five this season.

West Adams has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-8-5 record this season. As for Dr. Maya Angelou Community, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1-1.

West Adams didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Santee on the 10th. As for Dr. Maya Angelou Community, they will square off against Jefferson at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
