After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Little River, Bennington was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Republic County Buffaloes by a score of 15-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Hunter Johnson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Johnson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Connor Fry, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Hone, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Bennington's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5. As for Republic County, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Bennington beat the Buffaloes by a score of 12-9 later that day.
