A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wildcats face off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wharton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season.

Wharton heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Friday. They fell 72-61 to Wiregrass Ranch.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Nick Womack, who posted 13 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Tysen Jefferson was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Meanwhile, Palmetto also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Charlotte by a score of 59-47. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Fightin' Tarpons recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Wharton's defeat dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Palmetto, their loss dropped their record down to 18-8.

Everything went Wharton's way against Palmetto in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, as Wharton made off with a 58-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wharton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
