Speedway is 6-1 against Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Sparkplugs will look to defend their home field against the Braves at 5:30 p.m. Speedway is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Speedway took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Ben Davis, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Sparkplugs skirted past the Giants 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sparkplugs have posted since May 7, 2024.

Hayli Clampitt was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Laney Jarrett, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Betty Miller, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They fell just short of Indianapolis Lutheran by a score of 3-1. The Braves haven't had much luck with the Saints recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
The win made it two in a row for Speedway and bumps their season record up to 5-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory, they now have a losing record of 10-11.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Speedway hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Speedway beat Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory 6-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Sparkplugs repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
