Softball Recap: Hammond Comes Up Short

Hammond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Covington Lions, falling 10-3. The Tornadoes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Hammond's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Covington, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Hammond is taking a road trip to face off against Mandeville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mandeville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Covington, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Ponchatoula at 6:00 p.m. The matchup will give Ponchatoula their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
