Softball Recap: Newton Takes a Loss

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 27-0 to the Huntington Red Devils. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 15-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Huntington, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Newton is set to square off against their familiar foe Woodville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Huntington will face off against rival Pollok Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Huntington 2.8, Pollok Central 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
